Alexander Motor Inn

This is a standard 60’s, family run, old fashioned motel. It is nicely maintained with a renovated, very nice bathroom with a huge basin top to set your cosmetics bag on (with room to spare), and a fantastic light and mirror!! We had a twin room so the beds were good but more kid oriented. The heating was wonderful, great tv and wifi. The best advantage is the location! It really is the best location if you want to take the train or tram into the city and are coming in from the west, (and have had enough of Melbourne traffic)! The train station is right across the road and manned! Yes! You heard correct! You can buy a card and load it without dealing with apps that don’t work and machines that make you crazy! It is on a main road but we did not hear any traffic noise.

When you're on holiday and already exhausted, a warm smile and welcoming atmosphere makes a big difference. I really appreciate Peter and Kathy for going above and beyond. Allowing us to check in earlier and checking on us if we need something. Peter was really good and patient with my kids . I appreciate your kindness. Thank you. We had a wonderful stay. We got the family room and the beds are comfy. Will definitely be booking again when holidaying in Melbourne.

I recently had a wonderful stay in Tasmania. The accommodations were exceptional, offering clean and comfortable rooms with all necessary amenities. The room was perfect for what we needed it for. The staff we interacted with were really friendly. It was a great location, close to a tram stop and train station, and a few cafe's/restaurants were just a short walk away. Would stay again if I need to be in that part of the city.
